Average Costs of an Auto Detail

When you’re in the market for an auto detailer, it’s easy to want to go with whoever the cheapest is. After all, everyone does the same work, right? Well what if we told you this wasn’t true. Read on to learn more about how much a basic detail costs by state, but more importantly, how you can make sure you’re getting the most for your money!

Mobile Tech RX shares, “The average detailing price around the country is $160.16. The range of average prices for car detailing in the US is $114.59 on the low end and $213.67 on the high end”

The question then becomes: what does that price include? Ballisticdetailing.com states, “A basic package, which is likely to include a wash, wax, tire cleaning, vacuuming, and a wipe down of the interior surfaces and windows is likely to cost up to $100 to $150 depending on the size of the vehicle”.

So how then are detailers allowed to charge more than the national average cost? Ballisticdetailing.com goes on to say, “a premium service goes into a lot more detail, offering 3x more services, and ensuring top-of-the-line cleanliness and protection. This package can cost up to $250 to $350 depending on the size of the vehicle”. Summed up, this means that the cost of a detail is totally dependent on these factors:

Vehicle Type/Size

Products Used

Machinery Used

Services Included

For example, here in Hawaii, the average cost of a detail, according to Yelp, is $91. This is the lowest average for a detail in the United States, with local detailers in Hawaii charging as low as $40. This low cost could be attributed to the desperation for supplementing income for high-cost living in this expensive state, but regardless, money is definitely not being made at that price. Here at SheGo Auto, we have a basic detailing package that costs a flat rate of $200. Although that’s significantly more than the state’s average, here’s how our clients are getting a steal of a deal:

At a $521 value, paying $200 for a detail is seriously a steal!

Pro Tip: Here at SheGo Auto Detailing, we don’t charge by vehicle size! Whether it’s a Sedan, Coupe, Sports Car, Station Wagon, Hatchback, Convertible, SUV, Minivan, or Truck, it doesn’t matter! Book your detail now with the assurity that the price really is just $200!
